ABOUT DEANNA

I want to take the stress out of training your dog and turn it from a chore into a seamless part of your everyday life. I know how it feels when training seems endless, impossible to fit around real life, like you’re fighting an uphill battle that never ends. I’ve been there too, and that’s exactly why I’ve developed strategies to make it feel like something you never thought possible. Fun.

My step into the dog world came from being part of a family that always rescued. With that came a journey through every kind of problem behaviour you can imagine, from dogs who had been let down by the people before us. That’s what sparked my passion, not just to help those dogs, but to help their owners find real harmony and joy with their new family members.

Rescuing difficult dogs like my late German Shepherd, Ebony, opened my eyes to what it’s really like to live with an emotional, reactive dog. If you’ve ever felt your stomach drop as your dog starts lunging, barking and spinning at the end of the lead, I’ve stood exactly where you’re standing. Since Ebony, I’ve seen those same behaviours again and again, and I made it my mission to learn everything I could to change them, and to help others do the same.

Because we rescued so often, behaviour issues showed up in every shape and size, and they taught me one thing clearly: one size does not fit all with dogs. Personality matters. Giving a dog confidence, and the ability to make good choices that benefit both dog and owner, sits at the very heart of how I work. I owe that lesson to a long list of rescue dogs and everything they taught me.

It also led me down the path of learning how to raise puppies well from the very start, so they grow into confident, well-behaved members of society and fewer dogs end up in rescue in the first place. Teaching people how to live their best possible life with their dog, through compassion, knowledge and practical skills, is what brings me real joy.

My Approach

Here’s something I’ve learned through all my education and experience: we do not give dogs enough credit. Set them up for success, give them the tools and the understanding to make the right choices, and they will. That belief runs through everything I teach, and it’s a huge part of getting the results you actually want.

My programmes are built to empower you, with structured guidance and zero judgement, from someone who only wants to see you and your dog succeed, at a pace that works for you. Don’t mistake that for an easy ride. My course will hold you accountable and help you put your relationship with your dog first. Together we’ll use the most up-to-date, science-led and compassionate techniques to change behaviour for good.

If you want the best possible life for you and your dog, and you’re ready to put the work in, we’re going to create something great together. Book a call today and let’s find out what we can do next.
